Using a minikeg for storing and serving beer is a fun way to enjoy your favorite brews.
Start by chilling the minikeg in the refrigerator or an ice bath until it's at the ideal serving temperature.
Once chilled, pour yourself a glass by tilting the keg and using a tap or the built-in spout, if available.
This helps create a nice head on your beer while minimizing foam.
Remember to keep the minikeg sealed when not in use to maintain carbonation and freshness. If you want to learn more about how to get the best out of your minikeg, be sure to check out the video above!
SETTING UP
Enjoying a fresh pour from your Game Day on Tap Mini Keg is easy with a few simple setup steps!
Follow this guide to ensure your mini keg is ready to serve your favorite drinks.
1. Unpacking the Components
Begin by unpacking your Game Day on Tap and making sure all parts are included:
Hose
Extra gaskets (for both the main unit and the regulator)
Spear valve
Brass mounting piece for the regulator
Handle
Faucet
2. Preparing the Hose
Cut the Hose to Length: Insert the hose until it reaches the bottom of the keg, then cut it to the right length.
Attach to the Spear Valve: Twist the hose around the spear valve tip for an easy, secure fit.
3. Assembling the Spear Valve
Add the O-ring: Place the O-ring on the spear valve's threaded section.
Tighten with the Neural Nut: Position the threaded piece inside the neural nut, then screw them onto the spear valve. Snug this down, then tighten with the threaded ring.
4. Filling Your Mini Keg
Now, with the setup in place, fill your keg with your favorite beverage or brew. Ensure the spear valve and hose are properly assembled for an optimal pour.
5. Final Assembly
Insert the spear valve and hose into the keg and tighten down the valve securely.
Add the Faucet: Attach the faucet, keeping it vertical. Secure it with its locking ring.
Attach the Handle: Screw on the handle and lock it in place, ensuring it’s secure.
6. Setting Up the Regulator
Attach the Brass Fitting: Screw the brass fitting for the regulator onto the spear valve. It should be snug, with the knob facing up.
Insert the CO₂ Cartridge: Screw the CO₂ cartridge into the regulator until it’s firmly in place. You might hear a slight hiss as it seals.
7. Adjusting Pressure for Serving
Set Initial PSI: Turn the knob on the regulator counterclockwise to close, then clockwise to open to a setting of 3-5 PSI.
Bleed Excess Pressure: Pull the ring to release any excess pressure, then set the PSI back to 5. Wait for two minutes, and your keg is ready to serve!
Adjust the PSI as needed for desired flow rate.
8. Storing Your Mini Keg
If you have any beverage left, simply store the entire keg in the refrigerator to keep it fresh for your next pour.
Now you’re all set to enjoy a perfectly poured beverage anytime!
